Updated: Nov 22, 2021

By Venus Gentile

The brain is a precious organ susceptible to toxins, stress, lack of sleep, illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals, smoking, poor food choices, nutrients, exercise, infections, oxidation, and degeneration.

In the mind, body, and soul trilogy, the brain connects our spiritual essence and personality. The brain is precious, and we must do everything we can to maintain our brain at its very best. Thought, work, function, creativity, spirituality, sports, school, writing, art, and music all require our brain for us to enjoy and prosper!

  • During gestation in-utero, a fetus develops 250,000 neurons/min

  • The brain can only survive for 5-6 minutes without oxygen

  • After 8-10 seconds without oxygen, we lose consciousness

  • The brain gets 20% of our bodies oxygen consumption

  • It has 100 billion neurons

  • It controls our entire neurological physiology metabolism.
